Democrats show how low they’ll go with coordinated Kavanaugh protests

Less than 10 seconds into the Kavanaugh hearing, Senator Chuck Grassley was being interrupted by Democrat Senator Kamala Harris.  When she stopped talking her colleagues started, and one right after another they interrupted the Kavanaugh hearing like clockwork.  Then came the screams and rants from wild audience members.  Members of the audience screeched preplanned chants and interrupted at key moments, even earning the ire of Democrat Senator Pat Leahy at one point.  It turns out they were scripted too.

Over the weekend, Sen. Schumer and Sen. Durbin hosted a conference call where they coordinated circus like protests from activists.  As the cops dragged one protester out, another one as if on cue would start ranting and raving.  Dozens were arrested for the interruptions and refusing to leave.  At one point Kavanaugh’s daughters were ushered out as the protesters became more radical and insane in their disruptions.

Kavanaugh is going to be confirmed.  The question is how low Democrats will sink in the mud to express their disapproval.

Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward are once again forming a one two punch in journalism, but their claims have drawn intense criticism.  Bernstein was caught last week lying about his sources when he reported that Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen had dirt on Trump.  It turned out, Bernstein’s secret source was Lanny Davis, who later denied that Cohen had any info.  Bernstein also lied about reaching out to Davis for comment.

Woodward is being rebuffed by several people quoted in his book, including chief of staff John Kelly.  Others have denied purported quotes by Trump about Jeff Sessions among other things.  Trump was not interviewed for the book.

Evidence has now come out that DOJ employee Bruce Ohr and dossier author Christopher Steele worked together to try to get Russian oligarchs to implicate Trump in Russian collusion.  Ohr’s relationship with Steele has been under the microscope because Ohr continued to funnel information from Steele to the FBI even after the FBI fired Steele.  Texts between the two seems to indicate that they had a system down for funneling fake info about Trump to the FBI to keep FISA warrants active.

The new revelation could show not just sloppy and suspect intel gathering practices, but direct obstruction of justice.  Ohr’s wife worked for Fusion GPS during this time as well.  The question investigators will have to figure out is if the team of Ohr and Steele thought these oligarchs colluded with Trump or if they were just trying to create that dirt to influence the election.  The more the idea of Trump Russian collusion slips away, the more the latter seems likely.

8/13/18: Omarosa and the age of disgruntled tell all book profits

Trump is once again the victim of someone looking to sell books.  Although honestly, he should have seen this one coming.  Omarosa Newman, the former bad guy from the Apprentice turned Trump advocate is promoting her tell all book about her brief time with the Trump administration.  Of course, this means she needs to sell books.  Among her claims are unverified attacks on Trump and his associates, including the claim that she has heard a recording of Trump using the N word.  She doesn’t have the recording, but I’m sure we can take her word for it.

Omarosa also may be in trouble.  In preparation for her book, she had been recording private meetings which could get her in big trouble for national security violations.  Omarosa was fired for unethical behavior, but claims that chief of staff John Kelly threatened her.  The threat though sounds more like he was saying he did not intend to  make public what she did to get herself fired. That may change now, and she may find herself in legal trouble for the illegal recordings.

However, as of press time, we have a new recording from Omarosa of a phonecall with Trump, where he says he didn’t know she was getting fired and that was a shame.

Omarosa could be in trouble for secret tapes

Speaking of unseen videos, Democrat Representative Keith Ellison’s ex-girlfriend’s son is claiming to have video of Ellison abusing her during their relationship.  Like Omarosa’s claims, nothing has been put out there yet and Ellison is denying it.  Keith Ellison has also recently denied having a relationship with Louis Farrakhan, although his claims of not knowing Farrakhan were easily debunked.  Ellison is currently running for Attorney General in Minnesota.

Speaking of he said, she said and secret recordings, Rudy Guiliani is now saying Trump never told Comey to go easy on Flynn.  Guiliani said that was Comey’s version of the events and when he discussed it previously on ABC’s This Week, he was discussing their version of events.  It appears though that none of this will matter.  Guiliani is very carefully threading a needle with a hostile prosecutor who seems to be looking for perjury or obstruction of justice.  But Comey had already testified that Trump’s actions did not constitute obstruction of justice, even if they had discussed Flynn as Comey said.  Like Omarosa, Comey released unverified memos of his supposed private conversations with Trump to bump his book sales.

Sanders v. Acosta

This is a great bit of video.  Jim Acosta, butt hurt from getting booed at a Trump rally, asked Sarah Sanders to make a statement that the press is not the enemy of the people.  Well, he asked, pestered, interrupted, and talked over her but eventually got the question out.  This was in response to Ivanka Trump saying the press is not the enemy of the people, and President Trump agreeing, tweeting that the media is not the enemy of the people.

Perhaps Acosta thinks all of the media is fake news and that’s where he’s getting confused?

Anyway, Sanders didn’t give Acosta what he wanted, but rather reminded him of the many times the media has personally attacked her and that she is the first press secretary to require secret service protection.  Acosta got up and stormed out when she was done.  Here’s the clip of her response:
