What if Mueller doesn’t have another shoe

All summer Mueller has remained relatively quiet when it comes to Trump and his inner circle.  While the media speculates about the worst case scenarios, what has actually materialized is a couple small time process crimes, a couple corrupt businessmen who made bad deals a decade ago, about a dozen Russian hackers, and a guy who was bled dry and threatened until he plead guilty to a crime he didn’t commit.

It seems like every other week there is a story about how someone else is definitely flipping on Trump.  In fact, there has been so much fake news about this investigation, it’s easy to ignore the headlines.  Meanwhile, there has been very little reporting about the ongoing inspector general investigation into the handling of the Clinton email case.  You might have even forgotten that was still going on.

Now the media is suggesting Mueller may not even subpoena Trump if he refuses an interview.  They are basically admitting that Mueller doesn’t may not actually have any compelling reason to interview Trump.  There was speculation the investigation would end this week with a big move by Mueller.  I have to hand it to him.  Either he’s done a great job of not giving anything away, or the media has gone so insane over this story and it’s just now becoming apparent to them how much was simply made up.

Mueller may not get his Trump interview

2018 is becoming less of a referendum on Trump and more on Socialism.  With the successes of Beto O’Rourke in Texas, Andrew Gillum in Florida, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in New York, the Democrat party has taken that dreaded turn towards the extreme radical left of their party.  Many within the DNC had complained about Ocasio-Cortez’s rise and subsequent flubs, and some openly cheered when Democratic Socialists lost a string of primaries.  But now Beto and Gillum are giving the movement a little more credibility, despite the fact that one has a spotted past and the other is under an FBI investigation.

Meanwhile, in Sweden the Socialist Democrats are experiencing extremely low popularity.  Part of that has to do with the government’s failure to keep up with their welfare promises.  Patients are waiting years for vital medical care.  The welfare state is being especially harmed by the large influx of immigrants who have not been able to incorporate into Swedish society.  Socialism is failing them.

Swedes enjoy world-class healthcare, when they can get it

Trump hasn’t done a great job of qualifying his statements every time and consistently.  For example, when Trump said that the Press was the enemy of the people, he also tweeted that he mean fake news was the enemy of the people and that he would take fake news over censorship.  But the media, as though they are happy to prove his point, has continued to zero in on his “enemy of the people” comment.

But while Trump is openly critical of the press, he hasn’t been the enemy of the press that Obama was.  If anything, Trump has been a far more open target of the media and hasn’t really backed down from the challenge.  Rather than closing off lines of communication, Trump has held a one sided press conference with the entire country every night from about midnight to 4am.  In fact, Trump may go down as the President who communicated the most directly with the American people.  His digital fireside chat happens just about every night and has made millionaires over at CNN and MSNBC.

Reporters started war with White House

Narratives crumble on eventful Tuesday

First let’s talk about media censorship.  As we’ve documented, reporters like CNN’s Jim Acosta went crazy when Trump suggested Fake News was the enemy of the people.  Over 200 newspapers wrote coordinated editorials attacking Trump based on the narrative that he was anti-Press.  But in West Virginia, Trump shot down that narrative by going after social media censors.  “I would rather have fake news than have anybody — including liberals, socialists, anything –than have anybody stopped and censored,” Trump said.  He added warnings about the dangers of censoring opposing viewpoints.

The Left is frothing at the mouth over convictions of Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen.  But there’s very little chance it will amount to anything.  The media also seems to be confused into thinking that paying people for non-disclosure agreements of affairs is somehow illegal.  What was illegal was Cohen submitting the payoff to one of Trump’s companies as some sort of expense reimbursement.  For investigators to even begin to think they have a crime to charge Trump with, they have to get evidence beyond Cohen’s unreliable testimony.  But beyond that, Trump can’t be indicted.  He can only be impeached if evidence of criminal activity can be proven.  An impeachment vote won’t pass with the current House makeup and even after November there is no way the Senate will have 75 yes votes on impeachment.

But more importantly, the Russian collusion narrative is once again proven to be dead.  Manafort’s convictions are all for pre-Trump campaign financial crimes that have nothing to do with Trump.  Despite Cohen’s willingness to sing like a bird to Mueller, he had nothing to offer when it comes to Russia.  These two were literally the best hope Mueller had of ever having anything on Trump when it comes to Russia.  Both flipped.  Neither one had anything to offer.  There was no Russian collusion with Trump.

Trump could be in political trouble, but won’t be impeached

In another Russia related story that the media is dutifully ignoring, Rick Scott announced Tuesday that the Department of Homeland Security and FBI informed him that there is no evidence that Russia has infiltrated the Florida election system.  This was a wild and baseless claim made by his opponent Sen. Bill Nelson.  Nelson provided no evidence for the claims, but seemed to be indicating that it was classified.  After being called out on his claim by even the Washington Post, Nelson got quiet but hasn’t apologized for lying.

Hogg rages against Pelosi and “older Democrats”

The media is finally catching up with Trump.  Boasting an “exclusive”, Reuters is finally reporting the real reason Trump doesn’t want to meet with Mueller.  Anyone who has been paying attention knows that Rudy Guiliani has been talking about their fears of the perjury trap for weeks.  Mostly though the media has misunderstood what Guiliani was saying and instead speculated about why Trump’s lawyers might be meeting with Mueller.  When McGahn met with Mueller for 30 hours with no attorney client immunity, the New York Times speculated that he was flipping on Trump rather than speaking on his behalf.

Trump’s concern has been that if Mueller interviews him and he happens to say something contrary to what Comey or someone else has said, Mueller will slap Trump with a perjury charge.  Of course, it would be a he said, he said situation, but Mueller would likely take Comey’s word for it.  Unlike Bill Clinton who committed perjury and was proven to have lied by the DNA on Lewinsky’s dress, Trump would be giving his word versus Comey or some other long time Mueller ally/business associate.

Media discovers Trump is avoiding perjury trap

Speaking of the unhinged media, NY Times columnist Michelle Goldberg said on MSNBC’s The Lid that she believes Trump wants to “murder people without due process”.  Goldberg was explaining why she felt Trump was no longer the leader of the free world, but instead should be classified as a murderous dictator.  When asked if she thought he would murder people without due process, Goldberg replied “he would certainly like to.”

David Hogg is back in the news, giving an interview to New York Magazine.  In the interview, Hogg expressed frustration with “older Democrats”, saying they should get out of the way and let him take over.  He also called Pelosi old and suggested there should be an age limit for people in Congress.  In case you were still taking him seriously, Hogg also said Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was going to be the President of the United States.

8/11/18: Press coordinates attack on Trump to prove they aren’t biased

Trump has stated that the press is not the enemy of the people.  He said fake news is the enemy of the people.  Trump has maintained this stance and repeats it when the media lies about him or produces fake news.  The media, only all too happy to prove him right, has taken the phrase “enemy of the people” very personally.  Media outlets have continuously charged that Trump was calling all news the enemy of the people.  I suppose that’s their mea culpa.

Trump’s charge that the media is biased stems from their coverage of the Russian collusion fake story.  While Trump has never been the target of a Russian collusion investigation, and while Hillary Clinton is the candidate who demonstrably colluded with Russia, you can ask any friend on the left and they will tell you Trump colluded with Russia.  It’s a fake narrative created by the media.  Trump has good reason to criticize the media for bias.

The media isn’t helping themselves.  On Friday, Marjorie Pritchard of the Boston Globe called on media outlets throughout the country to write coordinated editorial attacks against Trump.  70 media outlets have agreed to the coordinated attack on Trump to prove they aren’t biased.

The US Navy is back in the South China sea to enforce sanctions against North Korea.  North Korea has taken some symbolic steps towards peace and the end to their nuclear program, but continues to develop ballistic missiles.  The Trump administration had stated that sanctions would remain in place until Kim completely and verifiably eliminates their weapons of mass destruction program.

US sanctions on North Korea continue

Republicans and Conservatives are taking full advantage of the Ocasio-Cortez gaff machine.  And we are enjoying every bit of it.

Sanders v. Acosta

This is a great bit of video.  Jim Acosta, butt hurt from getting booed at a Trump rally, asked Sarah Sanders to make a statement that the press is not the enemy of the people.  Well, he asked, pestered, interrupted, and talked over her but eventually got the question out.  This was in response to Ivanka Trump saying the press is not the enemy of the people, and President Trump agreeing, tweeting that the media is not the enemy of the people.

Perhaps Acosta thinks all of the media is fake news and that’s where he’s getting confused?

Anyway, Sanders didn’t give Acosta what he wanted, but rather reminded him of the many times the media has personally attacked her and that she is the first press secretary to require secret service protection.  Acosta got up and stormed out when she was done.  Here’s the clip of her response:

Democrats vs. Nazis

Donald Trump, Jr is in hot water with the press after stating that the Democrat platform is closer to early Nazi-ism than the alt-right.  When reading the early Nazi platform, it’s actually not quite that simple.  There’s a mixed bag.  Points 6 and 7 sound a little like Trump’s immigration policy, except of course that they were predicated on pure German blood being a requirement for citizenship.  Trump hasn’t gone anywhere near that, even if the alt-right has and Liberals imagine Trump has.  But let’s look at the meat of the Nazi party platform.

Point 12 ended any sort of corporate profiteering from war. Point 13 demanded the nationalization of all corporations.  Point 14 calls for profit sharing in large enterprises.  Point 15 demands “old-age pension schemes” developed by the government.  Point 16, the confiscation of large department stores to be redistributed to small tradesmen and greater consideration given to small business owners.  Point 17 requires the abolition of ground rent and land speculation.  So far, that sounds pretty much like the Democratic Socialist platform.

Point 20 in the Nazi platform is free education.  Point 21 deals with healthcare mandates.

Point 23 calls for the banning of media that “violate the public interest” or has a “destructive effect on our national life”.  Think about that as Facebook and Twitter delete or block accounts based on political content.  Or how about the fact that Trump Jr was making the comments in response to Dinesh D’Souza’s latest documentary.  D’Souza was pardoned by Trump this past year after the Obama administration had gone after him for violations of campaign finance laws.  D’Souza was hit with a monetary fine, eight months in a “community confinement center” and “therapeutic counseling sessions” on the trumped up charges of offering to personally reimburse political donors. He plead guilty to avoid prison.  Just writing that feels very 1984ish.

Point 24 of the Nazi platform demands freedom of religion so long as that religion does not endanger the existence of the State or offend decency and morality.  They go on to rule out Judaism because of the “Jewish-materialistic spirit” and state that revival of the nation must be based on “public interest before private interest”.

Social Security?  Free tuition? Nationalization of large corporations? Confiscation of Wal Mart in favor of small businesses?  Banning media that violates the public interest?  Limited freedom of religion if it is harmful to the State or decency and morality?  Healthcare mandates?  Outlawing housing speculation and rents?  Tell me these are not the dreams of the Liberal movements in America today.

You could argue that there are those in the alt-right whose racism is comparable to the Nazi party.  But when it comes to the goals and policies of the Nazi party platform, they are definitely more in line with the goals and platform of the Democratic Socialists.  Ocasio-Cortez and those who see eye to eye with her want to abolish Capitalism in favor of a State controlled economy.  Just like the Nazis.

Newsflash 8/2/18

The New York Times has a new editorial board member.  Turns out, the new NYT editorial board member Sarah Jeong is a vile racist.  She’s pretty open about it too.  Her Twitter includes tweets saying things like how white people are “only fit to live underground like groveling goblins”.  Another gem states “white men are bullshit”, and she also used the hashtag #cancelwhitepeople.

It’s funny to me that the New York Times might feel it’s appropriate to add anti-white racists to their editorial board to expand their diversity of opinion, but have a hard time finding conservatives to add.

New York Times adds vile racist to their editorial board

A Vietnamese American, a Jew, and a Nazi…

They just don’t make white supremacists like they used to.

The nation was riled this week to see the alt-right so emboldened by Donald Trump’s victory that people at white supremacist conferences were doing the unthinkable.  They were doing Nazi salutes.  At a white supremacist conference, if you can believe that. Thousands were gathering…I’m sorry, I meant hundreds were gathering…no, that’s still wrong.  150 gathered for an annual neo-Nazi conference, with another 150 outside protesting.  At the conference, the media got a snapshot of the sordid details of what goes on inside when one of the more famous members took a selfie of their salute and posted it on Twitter.

That was all the media needed to start the 24 hour clock on the new narrative.  Donald Trump’s election had created the new neo-Nazi movement.  You would think this event must have had a million people, because when tens of thousands of pro-lifers gather in DC every year the media is no where to be found.  But no.  150.

So why all the buzz?  Aside from the media narrative, who would even notice three neo-Nazis saluting Hitler?  That’s the odd thing.  The picture was tweeted by adult model and reality television star Tila Tequila.

Tila Tequila, born Thien Thanh Thi Nguyen, is a bi-sexual Vietnamese American who emigrated to the United States after the Vietnam war.  In addition to posing nude for several magazines, having sex tapes, and a VH1 reality show, Nguyen has (or had, I should say) a very active alt-right Twitter account supporting Trump.  Of course, her presence makes this white supremacist outing slightly more diverse than the last meeting of the Congressional Black Caucus.

But she wasn’t the odd one in that photo.  To complicate matters even more, Salon.com reports that the man standing on her right is Jewish.  Saluting Hitler??

Apparently, he was there to investigate the movement and the picture was meant as a joke.  I’m sure he wasn’t anticipating how much the media was starved for evidence that the Nazis were taking over the country because Trump was elected.  And actually, it was a pretty good joke.  In addition to riling the media up, it has riled the neo-Nazi whackos who cannot believe a Jew got in their clubhouse (language alert).

I’m not saying we shouldn’t be concerned about white supremacist groups.  But maybe we can rest a little easier knowing that 150 of them (or I guess 148 plus a Vietnamese pornstar and a Jewish prankster) are not quite the Trump led neo-Nazi revolution the media has been reporting.  They haven’t even quite figured out the “white European” part.

How Trump won and Clinton lost

The question has been asked and answered several times.  In an attempt at self-diagnosis, the media has theorized about why the perfect, most qualified candidate in history lost to a racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic deplorable.  They are still missing the correct answers.  Here are five facts and perceptions the media continues to overlook.

The Black Vote

One of the biggest aspects of Hillary Clinton’s loss that the media is only now recognizing is the million or so African Americans who stayed home.  Barack Obama won 93% of the black vote in 2012, Hillary received 88%.  That was the lowest percent in this demographic since the last white Democrat to run and lose in 2004.  An inconvenient truth for the DNC is that after losing two elections in a row against Bush, about 1 million new African American voters came out to vote for the first African American candidate. Then they disappeared. It was the largest demographic shift from 2012 to 2016. Nothing significant has changed in the DNC platform in 20 years.  Obama successfully played the race card, Clinton had no such luck with the gender card.

A Flawed Candidate

Part of the reason the gender card did not work is that Hillary Clinton was not what many women wanted to be representative of the historical first female President.  Clinton was flawed from the start.  Anyone looking at the email scandal could see that she had violated the law.  Democrats could justify voting for Clinton because the FBI refused to recommend an indictment, but even then Comey’s statement was basically that Clinton was too incompetent to be a criminal or hold a government job.

Clinton was the chosen one.  But unlike Obama, she knew it and ran on it.  Obama at least bothered to have a message.  Even during the debates, Hillary seemed to be scared to stray from memorized platitudes and applause lines.  It didn’t help when she experienced public health issues or lashed out at critics.  Throughout the whole thing she acted as though she was entitled to the Presidency and offended if anyone didn’t agree.

Of course, most people who would be discouraged to vote for her because of her criminality or entitlement were already #neverhillary.  Cheating in the primary, controlling the media, and all of the filth that came out of the Podesta emails swayed independents more than the blind DNC is willing to admit.  Even when Sanders came out and endorsed Clinton, it was not enough to change the fact that she had canceled the revolution.  More people stayed home in 2016 than voted.  The crowds that belonged to Bernie Sanders did not follow Hillary Clinton.

Third Parties Failed

The Clinton campaign has lashed out at third party voters since the end of the campaign. But Gary Johnson voters did not have a significant effect on the election.  If you think Gary Johnson’s 3% was anything significant, I would remind you that third party votes have been 2-3% since the last Clinton era when third parties took 10% in ’96 and almost 20% in ’92.  2016 should have been the best opportunity for a third party to make an impact because nobody liked the two main choices.  Consistently in polls, Gary Johnson pulled from both parties.

Gary Johnson was a flawed candidate.  A liberal Republican pretending to be a Libertarian, Johnson was joined by liberal Republican Bill Weld who spent more time praising and defending Clinton than advancing Johnson.

Gary Johnson himself was a clown who demonstrated often that he had no foreign policy intelligence and was probably high during the entire campaign.  Libertarians selected Johnson and pressed forward with no intention of winning, but hoping and praying that someone would realize they existed.  2020 may change their fortunes, but 2016 can objectively be seen as nothing other than a massive failure.  They gave it a Ralph Nader effort and walked away with the same result.

Not All Republicans Are Alt-Right

When Hillary Clinton labeled a large portion of Republicans as “deplorables”, I called that her “47%” moment.  Democrats made a huge miscalculation when they tried to substitute substance with sectarian attacks.  The problem is most Republicans do not believe that they are racist, sexist, bigoted, and many do not even consider themselves homophobic. That is probably because they aren’t.  Sure, some are.  The KKK, who Trump denounced 14 times, are all those things.  But the vast majority of Republicans view the KKK through the historical lens of their past involvement with the Democrat party.  The vast majority of Republicans feel no connection to the KKK and are offended when they are lumped together.

The vast majority of Republicans are also smarter than the media thought.  When Trump said Mexico was sending rapists and murderers, Republicans understood that he was talking about illegal immigrants and simply making the point that scientists, doctors and engineers are not crossing our border illegally.  Republicans also read through his poor communication skills to understand that he was talking about illegal immigrants and not Mexicans in general.  When celebrities called Trump Hitler, many Republicans rolled their eyes remembering they said the same thing about Romney, Bush, and others.  Trump was the beneficiary of generation so over inundated by superlatives and hyperbole that it has lost any affect.

When Democrats even today toss out insane metaphors and analogies, most recently how Trump’s cabinet selection has been Stalin-esque, sane people roll their eyes.  That is a big part of why Trump won.

The “Alt-Left” and Right Anger

What do you call it when someone refuses services to a particular group based on their beliefs?  What do you call it when one group that hates another group takes to the streets and destroys private property whenever they don’t get their way?  What do you call it when it is OK for one group to discriminate, but not the other?  These are the perceptions that drove the angry vote.  When celebrities, professors, and Wall Street try to marginalize conservatives or label them as dangerous, that drives conservatives to the polls.

The anger vote has been a narrative in the media since Trump won the primary.  The anger vote was significant, but the causes have been misdiagnosed.  The media narrative seemed to equate the anger vote with white supremacists and fringe members of the Right.  Even now, leftists like Jon Stewart and Michael Moore are correcting the Left’s perception on what drove rightwing anger.  It wasn’t simply a case of a bunch of racists not wanting a black or female President.  It had very little to do with the Supreme Court ruling in favor of gay marriage.  It had far more to do with reaction to destructive policies hurting our country and the “Alt-Left”, AKA SJWs.

Republicans voted for Trump mainly because of failed policies.  Obamacare drove insurance rates through the roof.  After 8 years of reported national recovery, people were still waiting for their own recovery.  Hillary Clinton listed two litmus tests for Supreme Court justices. They amounted to invalidating the 2nd amendment and legalizing all forms of abortion at all stages of a pregnancy.  We lost ground in every foreign engagement we involved ourselves in, including making ridiculous deals and ransom payments to Iran, consistently being embarrassed by Russia and China, losing in Iraq and Afghanistan, and rushing head first into messy entanglements in Syria, Libya, Egypt, and wherever else we could arm terrorists.

Perhaps the most Republican anger came at SJWs (Social Justice Warriors).  Again, these are just observations of the sentiments that were expressed by the Right.  The feeling was that professors created safe spaces to protect primarily liberal students from primarily conservatives students.  Conservative views were oppressed in Universities in demonstrable ways.  Anyone who disagreed with Obama or Clinton were too quickly labeled racist.  Eventually, the term “Alt-Right” was coined and used as a catch all to quickly dismiss anyone who was angry at the Left.

For every 100 sincere Black Lives Matters protesters attempting to bring light to police brutality, there were another 100 paid by George Soros to smash windows and set cars on fire.  In fact, many BLM protesters turned out to be Occupy Wall Street protesters recycled.

It seemed as though the entire race war was scripted.  While black protesters hugged police officers in the streets and people sought healing, bussed in groups of community organizers chanted “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon” and called for violence against police.  The angry Republicans were the ones sitting in their cars stopped on the highway by Occupy Wall Street and Black Lives Matter protesters.  Angry voters were driven by what should have been a charge of indifference, but was instead over-inflated into a charge of all historical racial and financial injustice.

Occupy Wall Street, the original Soros funded mob, was no better.  Americans across the country who still believe in the American Dream were being accused of hoarding and oppressing these liberal tent dwellers. Yet the movement collapsed in on itself and the DNC put forward a candidate who made $500,000 an hour giving speeches to Wall Street. It is no wonder American workers voted for Trump.

The Result

In the end, the election came down to two candidates who were so scary that neither side could afford to back down.  Trump didn’t win because half the country is racist.  He won because half the country was scared of Hillary Clinton, scared of her policies, and scared of how the SJWs already viewed them.  Desiring everything Hillary Clinton did not represent, and regardless of what Trump did represent, half the country voted #neverhillary and for the only viable alternative they had.  Trump wasn’t a great communicator.  He didn’t have to be.  All he had to say was “I’m going to make America great again, and I’m not Hillary Clinton”.

The Stephen Bannon Missed Opportunity

The Left missed a huge opportunity with Steve Bannon. Bannon has the same disrespect of women problem that Trump has. He went through a messy divorce, and there were allegations of violence against his wife. He’s said some not very nice things about feminists. But liberals didn’t go that route.

Instead, liberals went the race card route. Not just fringe left liberals, but the entire media establishment had Bannon packaged and labeled before it was even announced what his position would be with the administration. It fit the narrative. Trump is a racist, Bannon is a racist. They are all just a bunch of racists. You are asking for evidence? Wow. Just wow. How ignorant must you be to not already innately know this about them.

But the only problem is Bannon is not a racist. After claiming he was, the Anti-Defamation League had to go back and admit that they couldn’t find any racist things he’s ever said. The evidence that Bannon is a racist boiled down to him hiring Milo Yiannopoulus as an editor at Breitbart. And we all know Milo is a bigot and a racist. Yup, Milo. The antisemitic Jew who is also a homophobic homosexual. The leader of the alt-right movement.  And guilt by association is a well established argument to prove that someone is a racist.

It seems to me that the Left missed their chance by going off the deep end with the race card. Bannon is not a great guy. He is not pure red white and blue patriotism as Sarah Palin presents him. But it’s too late to change the narrative. Bannon will know be known as one more victim of loony Leftist racism allegations, vindicated by the truth.

I guess the Left didn’t want to go the “bad to women” angle considering they just spent the last year trying to put the Clintons back in office.  Despite Bannon’s faults, Bill Clinton makes Stephen Bannon look like a gentleman.
