What if Mueller doesn’t have another shoe

All summer Mueller has remained relatively quiet when it comes to Trump and his inner circle.  While the media speculates about the worst case scenarios, what has actually materialized is a couple small time process crimes, a couple corrupt businessmen who made bad deals a decade ago, about a dozen Russian hackers, and a guy who was bled dry and threatened until he plead guilty to a crime he didn’t commit.

It seems like every other week there is a story about how someone else is definitely flipping on Trump.  In fact, there has been so much fake news about this investigation, it’s easy to ignore the headlines.  Meanwhile, there has been very little reporting about the ongoing inspector general investigation into the handling of the Clinton email case.  You might have even forgotten that was still going on.

Now the media is suggesting Mueller may not even subpoena Trump if he refuses an interview.  They are basically admitting that Mueller doesn’t may not actually have any compelling reason to interview Trump.  There was speculation the investigation would end this week with a big move by Mueller.  I have to hand it to him.  Either he’s done a great job of not giving anything away, or the media has gone so insane over this story and it’s just now becoming apparent to them how much was simply made up.

Mueller may not get his Trump interview

2018 is becoming less of a referendum on Trump and more on Socialism.  With the successes of Beto O’Rourke in Texas, Andrew Gillum in Florida, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in New York, the Democrat party has taken that dreaded turn towards the extreme radical left of their party.  Many within the DNC had complained about Ocasio-Cortez’s rise and subsequent flubs, and some openly cheered when Democratic Socialists lost a string of primaries.  But now Beto and Gillum are giving the movement a little more credibility, despite the fact that one has a spotted past and the other is under an FBI investigation.

Meanwhile, in Sweden the Socialist Democrats are experiencing extremely low popularity.  Part of that has to do with the government’s failure to keep up with their welfare promises.  Patients are waiting years for vital medical care.  The welfare state is being especially harmed by the large influx of immigrants who have not been able to incorporate into Swedish society.  Socialism is failing them.

Swedes enjoy world-class healthcare, when they can get it

Trump hasn’t done a great job of qualifying his statements every time and consistently.  For example, when Trump said that the Press was the enemy of the people, he also tweeted that he mean fake news was the enemy of the people and that he would take fake news over censorship.  But the media, as though they are happy to prove his point, has continued to zero in on his “enemy of the people” comment.

But while Trump is openly critical of the press, he hasn’t been the enemy of the press that Obama was.  If anything, Trump has been a far more open target of the media and hasn’t really backed down from the challenge.  Rather than closing off lines of communication, Trump has held a one sided press conference with the entire country every night from about midnight to 4am.  In fact, Trump may go down as the President who communicated the most directly with the American people.  His digital fireside chat happens just about every night and has made millionaires over at CNN and MSNBC.

Drain the Swamp: Brennan loses security clearance

Former CIA director turned far left political commentator John Brennan saw his security clearance finally revoked on Wednesday.  Brennan was cited for “lying” and conduct unbecoming for someone who has access to the nation’s secrets.  But Brennan isn’t the only one on the list being considered.

Politico also names FBI Director James Comey, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former National Security Agency Director Michael Hayden, former national security adviser Susan Rice, former FBI attorney Lisa Page, former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, former FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, and Bruce Ohr.  McCabe and Strzok were fired from the FBI for misconduct.

Bruce Ohr has been demoted from assistant deputy attorney general and may not have a job much longer.  He was a crucial part of the Russian investigation, even though his wife worked for Fusion GPS.  In addition to Bruce Ohr’s connections to Fusion GPS, Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya was also a client of Fusion GPS when she set up her meeting with Donald Trump, Jr. in Trump tower.  Nothing happened at the meeting, but it has been cited by liberals as Russian collusion.  Some speculate that entire meeting was a Fusion GPS setup.

It’s possible these late moves are more than just cleaning house.  Many of these individuals have a very suspect past when it comes to the botched Clinton investigation and the unnecessary Trump investigation.  We have seen plenty of evidence from Strzok’s texts of collusion with the Obama administration to stop Trump.  And when you add in the Fusion GPS connections, everyone seems to be in bed with everyone else.  In some cases, literally.

The Inspector General’s office continues it’s investigation into these individuals, but Horowitz’s conclusions have thus far been suspect.  His decision that Strzok’s texts didn’t show bias gives me little hope for the future of that investigation.

Iran, in trouble with their people and staring down the barrel of new US sanctions, began a tweet war with Trump over the “mother of all wars”.  Trump responded in all caps that Iran’s leaders would suffer consequences few others have.  In the end it’s likely all blowing smoke.  Iran doesn’t have nuclear capabilities and the US isn’t about to go invade another Middle Eastern country.  But the developments continue to show that despite the rhetoric and narrative, Trump has been tougher on Russia allies than Obama was.

Rouhani warns Trump about mother of all wars

Speaking of rhetoric on Russia, Trey Gowdy had a warning for Trump administration officials that they should steer Trump to take Russia more seriously or consider leaving their posts.  Gowdy has consistently chided the Trump administration for not being tough enough on Russia’s election interference, however he has also acknowledged the extreme prejudice shown by Obama’s intel apparatus. In addition to noting that James Comey, James Clapper, and John Brennan continue to show their anti-Trump bias in editorials, Gowdy recently took Inspector General Michael Horowitz to task over his failure to call out anti-Trump bias deeply rooted in the FBI.  Texts from Peter Strzok reveled that the Russia/Trump collusion investigation was an “insurance policy” to “stop Trump”.  But so far, nothing has actually tied Trump to Russia or proven collusion.

Anti-Trump bias in the FBI can’t be put aside

Speaking of bias, the FISA court warrant to spy on Carter Page and the Trump campaign has been released through a Freedom of Information Act request.  This extraordinary release marks the first time a secretive FISA warrant has been released.  It proves two things.  The first is that Hillary Clinton’s paid for political propaganda dossier played a major role in getting the warrant.  Second, that the secret warrant to spy on a US citizen during the Obama administration was obtained simply because there was suspicion that Russia was trying to recruit him.  It’s also important to know that the warrant was issued after Page was no longer with the Trump campaign. Spying on a US Citizen because there is a belief that a foreign power might try to recruit them is likely a violation of the 4th Amendment.

For some good reading, here is Andy McCarthy’s argument why suspicion that someone is being recruited by a foreign government is not good enough to secretly spy on a US Citizen.

If you want to read through the FISA Warrant, you can do that here.

What do Sacha Baron Cohen and James O’Keefe have in common?  Both used hidden cameras to expose the other side.  It’s interesting to see how many lend credence to what Cohen exposes compared to those who dismissed O’Keefe’s videos out of hand  because they felt he was using trickery or deceptive editing.  O’Keefe’s undercover operations exposed massive Democrat voter fraud and routine illegal activities being carried out by Planned Parenthood.  Cohen got a racist Georgia politician to drop his pants and shout the N word.  I wonder if the Left will dismiss Cohen so quickly.

“The administration has implemented an ‘Insider Threat Program’ in all government departments to urge federal employees to monitor their colleagues for possible unauthorized information disclosures. Administration employees suspected of leaking classified information are given lie-detector tests and subject to reviews of their telephone and e-mail records”

No, this isn’t Trump era policy.  This is a flashback to a 2013 USA Today article about an Obama crackdown on the press.  “This (The Obama administration) is the most closed, control freak administration I’ve ever covered,” – David E. Sanger, chief Washington correspondent of The New York Times.

Flashback: Obama often blocks Press access to information

Even as Democrats publicly say that #walkaway is simply a ploy by Russian bots to weaken their party, the split between moderates and socialists is deepening.  Centrists are definitely showing concerns over the rise of Ocasio-Cortez, who seems to be the perfect representative for the politically ignorant millennial generation.

Centrist Dems arguing against far leftists

Want some fun? The Russia/Trump connection was an “insurance policy” to “stop Trump” according to operatives in the FBI.  Their own tweets give this away.  But the Media Research council has highlighted this even better by putting together a compilation of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama talking quite differently about Russia before the election.

“This election will not be rigged.”  “We want Russia to be strong.”

head on backwards

Maybe you’ve run into this argument.  Generally, I think Democrats don’t want a border wall and don’t want illegal aliens charged with a crime because they support open borders.  But if you challenge them on it, they get offended.  Ever try pointing out that Hillary Clinton supported a border “fence”? Like when she voted for the Secure Fence Act of 2006?  Oh look, here’s video of her bragging about voting for it:

So let’s talk about the cost.  $21.6 billion.  That’s no small amount.  That’s almost twice as much as it costs to build an aircraft carrier.  So some, perhaps Libertarians and Conservatives, have a reason to think a border wall, fence, barrier, or whatever you want to call it, would cost too much.  But not Democrats.

In 2016, Obamacare cost taxpayers $110 billion.

But let’s ignore Obama’s previous spending. Let’s ignore his average deficits of $900 billion a year.  Let’s talk about the future.  Democrats, such as Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Kirsten Gillibrand, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris and nearly every other potential future Democrat Presidential candidate supports guaranteed jobs or universal basic income.  The only one who doesn’t is Joe Biden, who at his age might be struggling reading internal party polls.

A government guaranteed jobs program would ONLY cost $543 billion.

So Democrats really have no credibility when it comes to the argument that a wall costs too much.  Here’s an idea for Democrats to think about.  Guaranteed employment means people need something to work on.  Why not have them build a wall?

Hillary Clinton or Roseanne Barr?

Let’s talk reality for a minute. Hillary Clinton ran against Trump in 2016.  Roseanne Barr has been a vocal supporter of Trump.  Roseanne’s ABC show was cancelled because of her racist insult directed at former Obama staffer Valerie Jarrett.  So Clinton is the leftist and Barr is the crazy right winger, right?  In 2012, one of these two individuals took the  Political Courage Test and here’s her results. Go ahead, try to guess. Hillary Clinton or Roseanne Barr:
– Pro-choice
– Supports higher corporate, capital gains, and income taxes on upper earners
– Supports higher government spending on education, welfare, and the environment, and cuts in defense
– Against the death penalty
– Supports federal spending to grow the economy
– Believes humans contribute to global warming and supports federal environmental regulations
– Supports bringing home ALL of our troops and using the savings to pay for Universal Single-Payer healthcare
– Supports gun control
– Does not want Obamacare repealed
– Supports same-sex marriages
– Opposes private accounts for social security
– Supports marijuana legalization

Here’s the kicker, ready?
– Does not support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin
– Supports amnesty for illegal immigrant minors
– Supports sanctuary cities

These are the positions Roseanne Barr took in the 2012 survey when she ran for President as the Peace and Freedom party nominee. Oh, I’m sorry, did you think she was a conservative? Did you think her vocal Trump support meant she was a right-winger? Unless she has changed 100% in four years, Roseanne Barr is left of Hillary Clinton. She’s out in the loony left with Bernie Sanders.  It makes me wonder what ABC, and Roseanne had in mind when they brought her show back spotlighting her as a Trump supporter.
Maybe she’s a better actor than we all thought.
